The Schulenburg Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance to identify the person or persons who vandalized the women’s restroom at the Sports Complex. According to the SPD report, damage was done late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, Sept. 22.

Following an executive session during a special meeting on Sunday morning, Sept. 22, the Schulenburg ISD Board of Trustees voted to terminate an employee on the heels of misconduct allegations that surfaced last week.

Two arrested for chainsaw theft from Tractor Supply

A 911 call reporting that a male subject stole a chainsaw from Tractor Supply in La Grange was received by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, Sept. 10 around 5 p.m., according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.The caller also reported that the subject left walking toward Sutherland Lumber.

Commissioners Court sets tax rate, approves budget

The Fayette County Commissioners Court set the tax rate and approved the County budget for 2025 at its regular meeting on Thursday, Sept. 12.The Court approved setting the property tax rate at $0.41189 per $100 of taxable value, slightly lower than last year’s rate of $0.

Horns host Brazos for Homecoming

For their final non-district game of the regular season, the Shorthorns will host the 3-0 Brazos Cougars this Friday, Sept. 20.Kickoff at David Husmann Memorial Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. It is also Schulenburg High School’s 2025 Homecoming.
