When the calendar turns to July, the whole town of Schulenburg starts gearing up for the annual Schulenburg Festival, also known as the “National Party of Texas.”This year’s event will be held from Thursday, Aug. 1 through Sunday Aug. 4. Most events will take place in Wolters Park.

Fayette County was awarded a $20,000 grant through the H-E-B Community Recycling Grants program to support the purchase of a new baler for PET plastics as well as educational materials to help area residents recycle.

On Pointe wins numerous awards at national dance competition

Students from On Pointe Studio & Events in Schulenburg travelled to Tyler the week of June 24-30 to perform their 20 dances at the National Competition Dance Showcase USA. On Pointe competed with 44 studios from Texas and Oklahoma. It was not only memorable, but also a successful week for On Pointe!

PD vehicle financing, HOT funds for Festival approved

A resolution to finance a vehicle for the Police Department and granting Hotel Occupancy Tax funds to the Schulenburg Festival Association were approved by the City Council at its meeting Monday, July 15.
