Drunk driver ‘Shattered Dreams’ of local teens

Two Schulenburg High School teens lost their lives and three others were hospitalized in a two-vehicle “accident” on Monday, Feb. 12. First responders staged the scene as part of a “Shattered Dreams” program to show the SHS students the consequences of distracted driving.

The St. Rose girls’ basketball “A” team finished off the 2023-24 season with a 38-13 win over the St. Michael Swords on Monday, Feb. 5. With the victory, the Cardinals posted a perfect 14-0 record and earned the Diocese of Victoria Athletic League zone championship for the third straight year.

Early voting in Primary Election starts Feb. 20

Early voting in the March 5 Primary Election will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 20 and continue through Friday, March 1. In Fayette County, early voting will take place at the Elections Office, 275 Ellinger Road, La Grange. The early voting room is located at the back of the building.
