Lady Horns earn accolades from TGCA

C. W. Leonard was awarded the 2023 Legionnaire of the Year at the American Legion McBride Post 143 Christmas Party, held on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Commander Bob Heinrich read the following narrative to 115 attendees: “This individual has been a mainstay in the organization for many years.

Cocaine found after traffic stop on I-10 near Schulenburg

Cocaine concealed in water fountains being hauled in a trailer was discovered following a traffic stop on Interstate 10 about three miles west of Schulenburg on Wednesday, Dec. 6, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek. Sheriff Korenek reported that around 1:55 p.m.

A modest increase to the top end of Class 2A was enough to keep Schulenburg High from having to compete against larger schools in its districts for the next two years. The University Interscholastic League raised the line by four students, from 249 to 253.

The Sticker will not have an issue on Thursday, Dec. 28, and staff will be on vacation from Thursday, Dec. 21 through Wednesday, Dec. 27. The Sticker’s Christmas edition will be published Thursday, Dec. 21.

Locally, the county Republican and Democratic party chairs are currently accepting applications for filings on the primary election ballots. The last day to file for a place on either the Republican primary election ballot or the Democratic primary election ballot is Monday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.
