St. Rose HSA Chicken/Sausage/Okra Gumbo Dinner The St. Rose Home & School Association will serve plates with chicken/ sausage/okra gumbo over rice, corn-on-the-cob, garlic bread and cookie on Friday, Oct. 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Schulenburg Hall. The plates-to-go will be $12 each.

Jeschke to give program at Quilt Guild Oct. meeting

Everyone is invited to the next Colorado Valley Quilt Guild meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. as Brenda Jeschke will discuss what a judge is looking for at the quilt show. Jeschke is an award-winning quilter, quilt teacher and quilt show judge.

Members of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, San Antonio Chapter, along with family and friends, came “catchin’” to Bob’s magic pond in Moravia on Saturday, Oct. 14. They fished until their coolers were full of fightin’ Humpback Blues. They are already planning the spring trip.
