Schulenburg Hermann Sons Life Lodge 14 met on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Oakridge Restaurant at 5:30 p.m., with 36 members and guests attending.The business session was called to order at 7 p.m. by president Ed Moeller. The United States and Texas pledges were said.

Schulenburg Young FarmersThe Schulenburg Young Farmers will hold their next monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Schulenburg Expo Center.Ed Moeller is program chairman and the program will be good for two hours of CEU credits. Sign-in will begin at 6:30 p.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church in High Hill observed World Marriage Day on Sunday, Feb. 8 by recognizing couples attaining milestone wedding anniversaries and couples married 60 years or more.

Senior Connections: gathering place for active senior citizens in the area

At Senior Connections, where membership is free, the motto rings true: food is fine and the fellowship can’t be beat! With centers located in Schulenburg, Weimar and Flatonia, it is a vibrant hub for community and camaraderie. Seniors are invited to any or all locations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

‘Happy Days Sock Hop’ hosted by nonprofits brings community together

Approximately 200 community members gathered on Saturday, Feb. 7 for the “Happy Days Sock Hop,” a free, family-friendly event made possible through the collaboration of 10 area nonprofits and local businesses.

Czech Heritage Society has soup social, meeting

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society gathered Sunday, Feb. 15 at Hanslik Hall at the Texas Czech Heritage &Cultural Center (TCHCC) in La Grange for its annual soup social and February meeting. Attendees enjoyed a variety of homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts.
