Colorado County groups hosting Walk Across Texas

Friends of the Weimar Public Library and Colorado County AgriLife are participating in Walk Across Texas, a way to get involved, improve health and have fun. The program focuses on teams that record the miles walked and activities completed to compete with other teams of walkers.

DAR/SAR announce Feb. flag display recognition

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), John Everett Chapter, and the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Robert Rankin Chapter, recognized the home of Carol Lighthill located at 1053 Struss Lane in Columbus, for February recognition for display of the flag.

Food handlers can attend workshop in La Grange

A two-hour food handlers’ workshop will be held on Monday, March 9 at the Fayette Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane, Room 104 in La Grange. This course is accredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Fayette County is offering a two-day professional food manager certification training course, “Food Safety: It’s Our Business,” on Monday and Tuesday, March 30-31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fayette County Ag Building, 255 Svoboda Lane, La Grange.
