PLCTM, TPPM polka music organizations merge

Two organizations – the Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum (PLCTM), located at 275 West Fairgrounds Road, La Grange, in the Czech Village, and Texas Polka Music Museum (TPMM), formerly located at 712 Lyons Ave.

Antique piano given to Freyburg Church

An antique baby grand piano arrived at the Freyburg Methodist Church on Monday, April 27 after being stored in Spring for five years.Plum Piano Restoration Company piano technicians, Marquis Burkham and Quinton Burkham, moved the piano for Vikki and Roger Warnken, who have endowed it to the church.

John C. Landa Jr., “The Schulenbirder,” sent these photos on Sunday, May 3, all taken on his property off Steiber Road southwest of Schulenburg. He says that the combination of the rains and the coming of spring has been wonderful for bird-watching.

Reunions

AppeltTheAppelt family will celebrate its 62nd reunion on Sunday, June 7 at Appelt’s Hill Hall near Hallettsville. Registration will begin at 10 a.m.The reunion will provide a meal of stew, sausage and sides at noon along with cold drinks.

Cernosek reunion held at Ammannsville

It was a beautiful sunny spring day, April 18, at the KJT Hall in Ammannsville where the Cernosek reunion was hosted by the Frank Cernosek family. This was a time of reuniting for the relatives of lgnac and Maria Cernoch of Frenstat, Moravia.
