The 98th annual Fayette County Fair kicked off on Thursday evening, Aug. 28 with the crowning of the new royalty court.Combined season pass and carnival ticket sales came in at $167,676.10, with Queen contestants selling season passes and Junior Miss contestants selling carnival tickets.

A Historical Column From The Fayette County Historical CommissionSome 35 years ago, in another life, one of my hobbies was to guide small groups on canoe/ kayak trips down the Colorado River. On this particular trip, my friend Gary and I made the run from Plum Park to La Grange.
