Local Food Pantry serves 145 families in June

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 145 families in June with a total of 461 individuals. The Pantry had six new clients with 17 individuals in those families. The amount of food given out was 8,467 pounds. Food donated was 3,049 pounds.The volunteer hours were 353.

Armed forces appreciation dinner, dance Sept. 13

The second annual armed forces appreciation dinner and dance is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange, 109 South Brown St.The doors will open at 3 p.m., with the ceremony starting at 4 p.m.
