John C. Landa Jr., the “Schulenbirder,” sent this photo of a barn swallow, saying they are of course very common here during the warmer months. He adds, “I share these photos to show how uncommonly beautiful their coloring is when viewed in just the right angle in sunlight.

The Fayette County Commissioners Court signed a proclamation on Thursday, March 27 designating April 2025 as Autism Acceptance Month in Fayette County. Turtle Wing Foundation Executive Director Destiny Siptak (standing, right) accepts the proclamation from County Judge Dan Mueller (standing, left).

Garden Club has floral design workshop at meeting

It was green, green everywhere at the Schulenburg Garden Club meeting on Tuesday, March 4 as the theme was St. Patrick’s Day.President Bonnie Baker welcomed 18 members to the meeting and lunch. The traditional Garden Club Prayer and Pledge of Membership were recited.

La Grange FFA Fish Fry DinnerThe La Grange FFA will hold a fish fry dinner on Friday, April 4 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the La Grange High School ag building. The drivethru- only plates ($15 each) will included fried fish, butter-and-onion potatoes, pinto beans, coleslaw and hush puppies.
