The Czech Heritage Society of Texas will host the 24th annual Miss Texas Czech-Slovak Queen and fourth annual Youth Royalty pageants at the Jay F. Feibelman Garden Ridge Community & Event Center, 9400 Municipal Parkway, San Antonio, on Saturday, June 6.Registration will begin at 8 a.m.

Weimar library to host Christian romance author

Best-selling author Mindy Obenhaus will be at the Weimar Public Library on Friday, June 12 at 10 a.m.In another of this year’s Friends of the Weimar Public Library’s 2026 author series, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and talk with Obenhaus, a much recognized Christian romance author.

Sr. Connections: the place for active srs. in Schulenburg, Flatonia, Weimar

The Senior Connections warm and welcoming activity centers are a beacon for seniors to gather over a hot cup of coffee, a rowdy game of dominoes, Sequence, or many other games, and good company. The day gets better with home-cooked, nutritious meals, educational programs, bingo and much more.

Senior Connections: gathering place for active seniors in tri-county area

Senior Connections serves seniors 55 and up in Fayette, Colorado and Lavaca counties, with locations in Schulenburg, Weimar and Flatonia. The schedule is the same at all three locations: doors open at 9 a.m. and close at 2 p.m.

Legion, other groups place flags on veterans’ graves for Memorial Day

Along with six volunteer employees of Invenergy LLC, 25 veterans from SchulenburgAmerican Legion Post 143, Sons of the American Legion, Legion Riders and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 870 gathered at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19 to honor deceased veterans of all eras buried in area cemeteries.
Helping place flags on th e graves of deceased veterans in area cemeteries ahead of Memorial Day were Invenergy staff members, who joined American Legion Post 143 for the annual project.
