Darrel and Melanie Appelt, who reside at 220 Tait St. in Columbus, have been selected for American flag display recognition for April by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Sons of the American Revolution (SAR).The Appelt family has a strong tradition of patriotism.
Shout-out to the City of Schulenburg for work done recently. Senior Connections only has one bathroom and if that bathroom gets plugged up, it can be a serious issue, especially for older people. So the city came and replaced the sewer main and all of the old pipe. Senior Connections is so grateful to the City and its employees for all of their hard work and dedication.

Sr. Connections: community, fun for active srs.

Senior Connections is a vibrant gathering place for seniors age 55 and up, serving communities in Fayette, Colorado and Lavaca counties. Membership is completely free. The doors open wide from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter will host a volunteer appreciation event on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange (across the street from the shelter).

West Navidad WMA sets spring meeting April 25

The West Navidad Wildlife Management Association will hold its spring meeting on Saturday, April 25 at the Rockin W sale barn on Highway 77 north of Schulenburg.A social with bingo will be held from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a barbecue picnic from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

PRAHA SCHOOLAll former students are invited to the 2026 Praha School reunion on Saturday,April 18. Registration in the school building will begin at 10 a.m., a rosary will be prayed in the church at 10:30 a.m. followed by a group photo at 10:45 a.m. and a stew lunch at noon in the Praha parish hall.
