Author of book on autism to speak in Weimar

Friends of the Weimar Public Library will host author S. Charles Decker on Friday, April 10 at 10 a.m. Decker will present his book, The Blanket, A Mother’s Special Needs Journey, the story of a single mother raising an autistic child (April is Autism Awareness Month). The program is free.

Senior Connections celebrates the vibrant lives of seniors age 55 and up. With a welcoming atmosphere, delicious meals and a variety of engaging activities, there’s always something happening! Doors are open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Fayette County Historical Commission met on Monday, March 16 to dedicate a Texas State Historical Marker to the Fayette County Poor Farm and Pauper’s Cemetery in La Grange.This historical marker is a reminder of the efforts made by the county to care for the indigent population of the area.
