Second Chance gives to Wellness Collaborative Campus

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $15,000 to the Wellness Collaborative Campus (WCC). Monies granted will fund Calm Valor Recalibration which provides mental health and wellness recalibration services for 10 Fayette County veteran and front-line families.

Despite crime occurring at the lowest rate in decades in this country, stories about crimes of all sorts are constantly in the news. Whether it is petty theft, kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, etc., we are under a constant daily barrage of stories concerning these activities from news media.

Museum, theater group present ‘Wings of Their Own’

In a unique collaboration blending history, storytelling and live performance, the Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum and Fayette County Community Theatre joined forces to present “Wings of Their Own: Influential Women in Aviation” on March 21 and 22 at the museum in Schulenburg.

Sr. Connections: vibrant hub for active seniors

Senior Connections is the goto gathering place for active seniors, conveniently located at 1111 Bohlmann Ave. in Schulenburg, First United Methodist Church at 301 West St. Charles St. in Weimar and 403 E. North Main St. in Flatonia.

Undertold Texas Volume 2 features 48 historical tales

The second volume in the Undertold Texas book series from Mike Vance shines light on 48 lesser-known tales from all parts of the Lone Star State. Vance is an area author who lives on the border of Fayette and Austin counties.

Successful ‘A Matter of Balance’ series concludes

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension has successfully wrapped up an eight‑session A Matter of Balance series designed to help older adults reduce their fear of falling, increase physical confidence and stay active in daily life.

Legion and Auxiliary had monthly meetings March 3

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary held their monthly meetings on Tuesday, March 3. Commander Bob Heinrich called the meeting to order with 36 Legion and 11 Auxiliary members in attendance. Auxiliary chaplain Linda Dieringer read the prayer.

PRAHA SCHOOLAll former students are invited to the 2026 Praha School reunion on Saturday,April 18. Registration in the school building will begin at 10 a.m., a rosary will be prayed in the church at 10:30 a.m. followed by a group photo at 10:45 a.m. and a stew lunch at noon in the Praha parish hall.
