CVQG members construct ‘Quilt of Valor’ at workshop

Twenty-two members of the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild had a wonderful time trying something new on March 27 by participating in the Guild’s “Quilt of Valor” project.

John Wick Family The 27th John Wick family reunion will be held at the St. Mary Parish Hall in High Hill on Sunday, April 7, with registration starting at 10 a.m. A catered meal of fried chicken and sausage will be served at noon for $14 a plate for 13 years and up; children 12 and under eat free.

All railfans, train enthusiasts and “foamers” are invited to visit the Tommy Shults Photo Pavilion at 422 West North Main St. in Flatonia this Saturday, April 6 for the Flatonia Rail Museum’s biannual Railfan Party.

ARTS to present Song Swap Sundays in Fayetteville

Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) is excited to present Song Swap Sundays in Fayetteville, a musical gathering hosted by Mike Stroup. Musicians will take turns playing songs, answering questions and sharing the stories behind the melodies.

Ortwein to present program in Weimar

Historical fiction writer Barbara Ortwein from Germany will speak at the Weimar Public Library on Friday, April 5 at 11 a.m. Ortwein will present her Texas saga trilogy on German immigration to Texas by highlighting places and families that many people will recognize.

Poetry Night set Apr. 25 by Friends of Weimar Library

In celebration of National Poetry Night, the Friends of the Weimar Public Library will present its third annual Open Mic Poetry Night at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 25 at the Weimar City Gazebo, and everyone is invited.

Friends of Weimar Library ‘Walk Across TX’ to start

The Walk Across Texas program sponsored by Friends of the Weimar Public Library, in conjunction with Colorado County AgriLife, will begin on Monday, April 8. Walk Across Texas is designed to help people be more active in a team-based approach.

Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) announces an upcoming painting workshop with Eric Jacobsen set for Thursday, May 10 through Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Schmid ARTS Annex, 105 Main Street, Fayetteville.
