Horns rout Bulldogs, Hornets

The Shorthorns finished off the first half of their district schedule last week with blowout wins over Flatonia and Louise, improving to 5-1 in 28-2A and 17-9 record on the season.At home on Jan. 20, Schulenburg out-scored Flatonia 22-5 in the fourth quarter to close out a 66-38 victory.

Lady Horns hit century mark against Louise after falling by 33 to Flatonia

After splitting their district games last week, the Lady Horns’ record stood at 5-3 in 28-2A and 20-8 on the season.At home on Jan. 20 against one of the top-ranked teams in Class 2A, Schulenburg led 1715 through one quarter and held a 23-15 advantage early in the second period.

Local K. of C. free throw contest moved to Jan. 30

Schulenburg Knights of Columbus Council 2902 will host the local level of the K. of C. Free Throw Championship on Friday, Jan. 30.With Schulenburg ISD closed Monday due to the weather, the junior high games for that day were moved to Thursday, Jan. 29, the originally-scheduled date for the contest.
