St. Rose drops opener to New Braunfels Christian

St. Rose opened its season on the road and fell 20-6 against New Braunfels ChristianAcademy. The Cardinals played well despite the heat and facing a Wildcat team that had nearly four times as many players.

Shorthorns shrug off slow start for 42-0 rout

After a lightning delay, an opening ceremony for the renovated stadium, and a rousing team entrance through the new bleachers, the Shorthorns stumbled a bit to start their 2025 season.In the end, Schulenburg outgained Hallettsville Sacred Heart by 350 yards in a 42-0 blowout last Friday, Aug. 29.

Lady Horns win six of 10 matches

Going 6-4 last week against some tough competition, the Lady Horns upped their season record to 17-11.Schulenburg made the long trip to Iola on Tuesday and fell 0-3 to the No. 1 team in Class 2A.

SISD hosts cross country meet

The Schulenburg Cross Country Meet was held last Thursday, Aug. 28 at the Sports Complex.For the Lady Horns, Ellie Hammack placed sixth in the varsity division while the Shorthorns’ varsity team finished fourth.
