SHS doubles teams compete at regional, one qualifies for state

Senior Mikayla Otto and sophomore Caden Herzik made their second straight trip to the Class 2A Region IV Tennis Tournament last week and placed third in mixed doubles to qualify for the state event.The duo was scheduled to compete in the round of 16 at state on Thursday, May 15 at 11 a.m.

FCA to host basketball tournament on Saturday

The Schulenburg chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host a basketball tournament on Saturday, May 17 at Schulenburg ISD’s new gym.Proceeds from the event benefit the local FCA.

Senior pitchers propel Horns to bi-district playoff win

Only two innings ended with a Kenedy lead over the Shorthorns in last week’s bi-district series. Even so, the Lions pulled out a 5-4 win in game one Thursday only to have Schulenburg close them out with a 7-1 victory later that day and a 6-3 final on Friday.

Closed-Open golf tourney scheduled for Sat., June 14

The Schulenburg “Closed-Open” Golf Tournament, benefitting the Schulenburg ISD Athletic Department, has been scheduled for Saturday, June 14.The four-person scramble will be held at Flatonia Golf Course with a shotgun start of 9 a.m. Cost is $50 per person.
