Alumni game rescheduled

The Shorthorn baseball alumni game that was cancelled this past Saturday due to inclement weather will now be held on Saturday, March 8.It will take place at the Sports Complex starting at 11 a.m.Afree-will donation is requested from alumni who wish to participate.

Horn golfers finish fourth in La Grange tournament

The Shorthorn golf team posteda 371 total at the La Grange Tournament, held at Frisch Auf! Country Club on Monday, Feb. 17. Reid Janda carded the top score for Schulenburg High with an 84. Other scores for the Horns were: Brycen Schramek, 91; Jayse Janda,98; Van Prihoda, 98; and Brant Redman, 104.

Tucker Fitzhugh completes marathon

Lady Horns fend off Lady Bulldogs in fourth quarter for bi-district win

Continuing their turn-around from a 6-29 season, the Lady Horns notched their 18th win this year with a 38-33 victory over Thorndale in the first round of the playoffs last Tuesday, Feb. 11 in Giddings.
With the Shorthorns’ 14th win this year in the season finale, head coach Richard Hoogendoorn notched his 500th win at Schulenburg High. In 25 seasons here, compiling a record of 500-292, his teams have made the playoffs 19 times and reached the state semifinals twice. Overall, he has a record of 874-554. Sticker File Photo

Horns rout Hornets to finish season

Even with a 69-16 blowout win in Louise last Tuesday, the Shorthorns missed out on a trip to the playoffs.Schulenburg finished the season at 14-14 and 7-5 in District 28-2A. Ganado claimed the final post-season spot with its 60-49 victory in Weimar on Feb. 11.
