‘Ironman Challenge’ rescheduled

The Seventh Annual J-Bar-B Foods Ironman Challenge, benefitting the Shorthorn Booster Club, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15. It was originally slated for this Saturday, Oct. 5.

Shorthorns steadily pull away after Cougars’ quick start

Three runs for 75 yards quickly put Brazos up to start last Friday’s game at David Husmann Memorial Stadium. Over the next 46:53, the Cougars managed only 161 yards on 40 snaps while the Shorthorns scored five unanswered touchdowns to post a 35-6 Homecoming win.

Lady Horns down Smithville 3-2, sweep Brazos

After a five-set win in Smithville last Tuesday, the Lady Horns easily swept Brazos at home on Friday to improve their season record to 21-9.The match against the Lady Tigers went back-and-forth with Schulenburg prevailing 15-12 in the final game.

Horns host Kenedy to start district

District 15-2A Division I play gets underway this Friday, Sept. 27 with the Shorthorns hosting Kenedy.Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. So far this season, the Lions have wins over Skidmore-Tynan (34-16) and Pettus (52-0) with losses to Agua Dulce (28-27) and Karnes City (49-14).
