Over 100 golfers take part in 36th ‘Closed-Open’ tournament

The Schulenburg Closed-Open Golf Tournament was started 40 years ago but hasn’t been played since 2019.Larry Tidwell, who coached in Schulenburg from 1984-1992, revived the event upon his return to Schulenburg ISD.A total of 116 golfers on 29 teams participated in the 36th Closed-Open.

The Weimar Vets lost to the Serbin Jackrabbits 5-4 in the championship final of the Community Baseball League on Sunday, Aug. 11 in La Grange.The Vets jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the second inning.
