Blinn-Schulenburg to offer ‘Grow Your Garden!’ class

The Blinn College-Schulenburg campus is offering a “Grow Your Garden!” course this fall covering topics such as preparing a garden, the garden calendar, organic pest control, plant propagation and seed saving, easy maintenance, and how to attract birds and butterflies.

Certified Medication Aide program offered by Blinn

The Blinn College District will offer students the opportunity to become essential members of the healthcare industry through its Certified MedicationAide (CMA) program. The 140-hour, $805 course will be held Aug. 30 through Dec. 5, meeting Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3 to 7 p.m.

Twelve student-athletes on the Angelo State University track and field teams, including James Cason Brown from Schulenburg, have been named 2023 NCAA Division II All-Academic Athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Tricycle races and kiddie parade planned at Festival

The Schulenburg Festival tricycle races and kiddie parade will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5. Both events will take place under the pavilion on the dance floor. The tricycle races will start at 11 a.m. and will include a division for 2- and 3-year-olds and a division for 4- and 5-year-olds.
