The St. Rose of Lima Catholic School 4K class traveled to the Capital of Texas Zoo in Bastrop. Their Unit 8 Superkids literacy story, “The Tug of War,” takes place in the jungles of Africa.

Round Top library offers summer programs

Round Top Family Library announces its free summer program for youngsters. Kids S.E.E. (Summer Education & Enrichment) will be held in two sessions – the first in June and the second in July. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 5 p.m. (excluding June 1-9 and July 3-7).

Schulenburg High School students participated in the National Honor Society induction ceremony on Sunday, April 23. Students with an overall grade point average of a 95 or higher were given letters of intent.

Fayette County 4-H’ers compete in district Spring Spectacular Contest

Fayette County 4-H’ers participated in the District 11 4-H Spring Spectacular Contest on April 1314 in Victoria. Events included Public Speaking, Educational Presentations, Quiz Bowl, Duds to Dazzle, Fashion Show, Fashion Storyboard, 4-H has Talent and Consumer Decision Making.

Parents As Teachers holds group connection safety training

The Schulenburg/Weimar Parents As Teachers (PAT) held a group connection safety training on Thursday, April 13 at the First United Methodist Church in Weimar. Hardy Hay, retired Houston homicide investigator and current Fayette County sheriff’s deputy, gave a presentation on situational awareness.

Alivia Eindorf, a member of the Fayette County 4-H Horse Club, competed in the District 11 4-H horse judging contest on Saturday, April 1 in Bryan. She placed fifth overall in the senior division and was third high point individual in reasons.

RTFL to host cyber-safety seminar for parents, caregivers

The Round Top Family Library is providing a critically needed seminar for parents, grandparents and guardians. It is a cyber-safety seminar that will inform caregivers of the threats to the children and teens in this era of online dangers.
