Arts for Rural Texas started 18 years ago when Michael Clann, Terry Ross and Jeanette Brown decided to provide art opportunities to children. The group set up on the Fayetteville square expecting a dozen kids to come and enjoy a project. Two hundred children arrived and ARTS was born.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported that the murder trial of Dylan Nelson took place from Sept. 20-24 with the jury convicting the 25-year-old defendant. Nelson was found guilty of the 2017 murder of 43-year-old Jeremy Cornwell of La Grange.
