Fayette County, in cooperation with the state of Texas and the Army and Air Force National Guard, conducted another round of free COVID-19 testing Sunday, July 19 in Flatonia. Emergency Management Chief Craig Moreau reported that the turnout was outstanding, with 307 individuals tested.

Two variances granted by ZBA

Two deviations from City ordinances were approved by the Zoning Board of Adjustments last week. One reduced minimum parking requirements for a business while the other lowered the set-back distance for a residential carport.

Local weather observer Elroy Dieringer reported a total of 2.79 inches of rainfall for June. His recordings last month were: • June 3 - 0.65”; • June 23 - 0.54”; • June 25 - 1.16”; • June 26 - 0.44”. Since 1926, Schulenburg has averaged 3.76 inches in June.
