Jayse Janda, shown sprinting home with a run during the playoffs this past season, was selected as one of two catchers on the first team of the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association all-state listing for Class 2A. He shared the honor with senior Hunter Burrell of New Home.

PGAL hired to plan City Hall remodel

After seeing design options with budget estimates to renovate City Hall, the Schulenburg City Council approved a contract with PGAL to provide engineering and architectural services at its meeting Monday, June 15.

Hwy. 77 closed in La Grange starting June 8

On Monday, June 8, the Texas Department of Transportation began a project in La Grange to rehabilitate the existing roadway on US 77 from SH 71 to FM 155.The project was originally scheduled to begin on Monday, May 18 but was delayed.

Entries sought for Festival Pageant

The Schulenburg Festival Scholarship Pageant will be held on Saturday, July 18 at the Knights of Columbus Schulenburg Hall at 6:30 p.m.The pageant entry deadline is quickly approaching on Wednesday, July 8. No late entries will be accepted after that date.
