Fatal accident shuts down I-10 westbound

The driver of a pickup was pronounced deceased at the scene after colliding with an 18-wheeler on Interstate 10 about three miles west of the Schulenburg exit on Sunday, June 16.

A 911 call reporting a structure fire on Hackemack Road near Kneip Road in the Round Top area was received by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday morning, June 6, according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Two Hallettsville men arrested for criminal activity in Freyburg area

Two Hallettsville men were arrested following reports about criminal activity in the Freyburg area with law enforcement officers having to track down one of the suspects who fled on foot, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Meth bust made after Narcotics Unit executes search warrant in Praha

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported that, on Wednesday, June 5, the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Praha, which is located about three miles east of Flatonia on FM 1295.

Cyclist fatally struck

According to the preliminary report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a trooper responded to a fatal crash on FM 1383 in the Dubina area east of Schulenburg on Wednesday, June 5 at approximately 8:19 p.m.
