Paul Eugene Veselka

Paul Eugene Veselka, 69, passed away at his home in Schulenburg on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 after battling cancer for six months. Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg, with Fr. Felix Twumasi officiating. A rosary at 9:30 a.m.

Alejandro “Henry” Garcia, 80, of Schulenburg, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Janice Garcia. Henry was born in Shiner on Nov. 29, 1940 to Joe T. and Maria Garcia of Midway.

Graveside services for Sharon Kainer were held from the Schulenburg City Cemetery on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020 at 11 a.m. She was born in Hot Springs, Ark. on Dec. 30, 1945 and married Nelson “Butch” Kainer on Dec. 23, 1964 in Houston.

Glenn Charles ‘Toby’ Koether

Glenn Charles “Toby” Koether, 91, of La Grange, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020. Glenn was born in Swiss Alp on Sept. 26, 1929, the son of Hobert F. and Adela B. (Frank) Koether. Glenn married Dorothy Jean Freudenberg on Jan. 20, 1951 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Valley.

Leo Jares

Leo Jares of the Muldoon/Freyburg area passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 20. He was 88 years and 2 days old. He was born Nov. 18, 1932 at his homeplace in the Muldoon/Freyburg area and was the son of Edmund and Emilie Jares.

Royce Ray Berger

Royce Ray Berger, 81, of Waco, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020. Royce was born Oct. 6, 1939 to Edwin and Grace Berger of Schulenburg, where he spent his formative years and participated in all school athletic events.

William ‘Bubba’ Pritchard

William “Bubba” Pritchard was born Feb. 16, 1956 in Seguin to Effie Cowey Pritchard and Sidney Pritchard. He graduated from Waelder High School in 1974. In 1977, he married Evelyn Brunner. They were married for 43 years. They were blessed with one child, Ashley Pritchard.

Willy Frank (Bill) Bohlmann Jr.

Willy Frank (Bill) Bohlmann, Jr., age 93, went to be with our Lord on Nov 9, 2020. He was born July, 5, 1927 in Schulenburg, Texas. Willy received his bachelor’s (‘50) and master’s (‘51) degrees in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M.

Steven Presley Brower

Steven Presley Brower, age 59, of Schulenburg, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020 due to COVID-19 complications. Steve was born March 9, 1961 and spent much of his life in Texarkana before moving to Schulenburg nine years ago.

Rose Mary (Cernoch) Shimek

Rose Mary Shimek, 82, was born in Hostyn on Sept. 28, 1938 to John Anton Cernoch and Lillie Kana Cernoch. Rose Mary married Melvin Daniel Shimek on Oct. 14, 1956. Rose Mary was known for her love of children.
