Eugene Henry Matura Sr. was born on Aug. 15, 1939 in Dubina to Henry and Blasta Valicek Matura. On June 25, 1961, he married Regina Lillie Vornsand in Weimar. Gene has lived in Katy since 1951, where he was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council.
