President Bonnie Baker welcomed members and guest speaker Cale Heinrich of Heinrich Landscape to the Schulenburg Garden Club meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Baker administered the Garden Club Oath of Membership to new member Debbie Vellelo.
Friends of the Weimar Public Library will host author Betsy Wagner on Friday, Dec. 1 at Weimar United Church fellowship hall, 403 W. Main, Weimar, at 11 a.m.
The John Everett Chapter, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), for November recognized the American flag display of Kyle Hudec and family located at 211 McCormick St. in Columbus. They have both the American flag and the Texas flag displayed on their home.

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary will hold their Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the Legion Home in Wolters Park with a social at 6 p.m. and meal and awards presentation at 7 p.m. Dress is casual with Legionnaire cap.
The public is invited to a vegan cooking class (with vegetarian tips) for a Thanksgiving meal on Sunday, Nov. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church Hall, 1000 East Business Highway 71, La Grange.
