TCHCC to recognize Red Ravens at Heritage Fest

The Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center in La Grange is proud to honor the Red Ravens, a beloved hometown polka band, as part of this year’s Heritage Fest on Saturday, Oct. 18.

Quilt Guild selects ‘Cut Above’ award recipients

At the September meeting, the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild had a tied vote on two deserving women for the “Cut Above” award, given to members who have gone “above and beyond” for the guild.One of the recipients is Jo Anne Hill of La Grange.

The John Everett Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Robert Rankin Chapter No 62, Sons of the American Revolution, presented Bob and Nancy Stiles, 634 Spring St., Columbus, with theAmerican flag display certificates for October.

The Schulenburg High School class of 1960 held its annual reunion on Thursday, Oct. 2 at Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia. At this time 66 years ago, the classmates were starting their senior year at SHS. There were 13 classmates plus seven spouses in attendance at this reunion.

Food manager training course set in La Grange

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Fayette County is offering a two-day professional food manager certification training course, “Food Safety: It’s Our Business,” on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 17-18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 East Pearl St., La Grange.
