Petrich honored at Extension Education Assn. conference

At the recent District 11 Texas Extension Education Association (TEEA) Spring Conference held in Aransas Pass, a member of the Fayette County Walhalla EEA Club was honored. Marilyn Petrich, a 73-year-member, was recognized with the 2024 District 11 Texas Treasure Award.

Moore gives program to Quilt Guild

The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild hosted Ann Moore, national quilting instructor and designer for Sew Steady/Westalee Design Rulers, at it meeting on Tuesday evening, April 23.Moore has won numerous awards for her beautiful quilting, all done on a domestic machine.

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary held their monthly meetings on Tuesday, April 2. Commander Bob Heinrich called the meeting to order with 43 Legion and 10 Auxiliary members in attendance.Auxiliary chaplain Linda Dieringer, led the opening prayer.

The Schulenburg Historical Museum held a drawing for two gift baskets during SausageFest on Saturday, April 6, with visitors to the museum in March and in April prior to SausageFest entered into the drawing. The winner of the adult basket was Mary Zeller (left).

Arts for Rural Texas to host ArtWalk in Fayetteville

Arts for Rural Texas (ARTS) will host its annual ArtWalk, a juried fine art festival, on Saturday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Fayetteville. Admission tis free and all are welcome.

St. Rose Altar Society has monthly meeting April 15

The St. Rose Altar Society held its monthly meeting on Monday, April 15 in the meeting room of the Family Life Center. President Ann Florus called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and led the prayer and pledge of allegiance.The minutes were read by Sheila Brossmann and approved with one correction.
