The Grove, Friendly Tavern documentaries at Lyric

The award-winning feature documentary, “The Grove, Texas,” and the documentary short, “The Friendly Tavern,” will make their Flatonia and Fayette County premieres together on Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m. at the Lyric Theater in Flatonia.

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary held their monthly meetings on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Commander Bob Heinrich called the meeting to order with 37 Legion and nine Auxiliary members in attendance. Auxiliary chaplain stand-in Patricia Hranicky recited the opening prayer.

Literary Club has program on Fluent Cannabis Care

The Schulenburg Literary Cub met on Feb. 13 at noon in the Schulenburg Public Library. The meeting room, with Valentine’s Day decor, was resplendent in red, pink and lots of love.

Beekeepers School to be held March 2 in Brenham

The 14th annual Central Texas Beekeepers School will be held on Saturday, March 2 at Brenham High School. The school is open to the public for anyone interested in keeping bees or who wants to learn about bees.

John Everett DAR names Good Citizens winners

The John Everett Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, honored four high school students with the Good Citizens Award at its Feb. 12 meeting. Good Citizens committee chair Jana Semler of Schulenburg had the winners introduce themselves and their guests.
