Horns travel to Holland Friday

Coming off their first district loss, the Shorthorns will hit the road this Friday, Oct. 27 to face first-place and undefeated Holland. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The Hornets have a prolific offense, averaging nearly 44 points per game in district play. They have given up 22.

SHORTHORN SUB-VARSITY FOOTBALL

The junior varsity Shorthorns improved to 5-3 on the season after a 34-0 win over Weimar on Oct. 19. The junior high Shorthorns, with seventh and eighth grades combined, also notched a blowout win over Weimar last Thursday 34-14.

Fourth-quarter flurry lifts Horns to 15-point win in Flatonia

While a fast start put the Shorthorns ahead, three touchdowns in the fourth quarter sealed their 43-28 win in Flatonia last Friday. The Bulldogs had a 44-yard edge in total offense but Schulenburg took advantage of good field position created by five turnovers along with return yardage.
