Horns host ’Cats Friday

For a second straight week, the Shorthorns will take on a Highway 90 rival when they host Weimar this Friday, Oct. 20 at David Husmann Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The Wildcats went 4-0 prior to district play and own a 2-2 record in 13-2A Division I.

Adams, Magliolo receive national recognition

For the third time this season, the Lady Horns have a player named to the Volleyball Magazine Dream Team. Senior libero Kieryn Adams received the honor for Oct. 11 with the magazine noting: “Adams helped lead the Lady Horns to two key district wins against the school’s biggest rivals last week.

Lady Horns up district mark to 7-0 with pair of sweeps

After 3-0 win at home last Tuesday, when Ganado totaled only 22 points in three games, the Lady Horns swept the Lady Bulldogs in Flatonia on Friday to stay undefeated and atop the district standings.

Shorthorn Sub-Varsity Football

The junior varsity Shorthorns dropped to 4-3 on the season after a 6-0 loss against Class 3A Hallettsville on Oct. 12. The junior high Shorthorns, with seventh and eighth grades combined, downed Flatonia 22-16 last Thursday.
