St. Rose Cardinal football team downs Nazareth 36-6

The St. Rose Cardinals traveled to Victoria to play the Nazareth Academy Jets and came away with a 36-6 victory. The Jets took the ball to start the game and quickly moved into Cardinal territory with a 30-yard pass completion. Led by Adam Schramek and Denver Carr, the St.

Horns resume district play in Flatonia this Friday

After the open date on their schedule last week, the Shorthorns will travel to Flatonia this Friday, Oct. 13 for a district matchup against the 5-2 Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The defending champs of District 13-2A Division I went 3-1 prior to district play with wins over Shiner St.

SHS XC teams qualify for 2A Region IV meet

The Lady Horn and Shorthorn cross country teams are shown with the medals they earned for placing at the District 28-2A Cross Country Meet, held in Shiner on Monday, Oct. 9. Both squads qualified for the Region IV-2A event, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 23 at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Lady Horns take over first place in district

After coming out victorious in two matches last week that went a total of nine sets, the Lady Horns took over the top spot in District 27-2A and improved to 26-12 on the season. Both came away from home, handing Weimar its first district loss 3-1 before outlasting Shiner 3-2.
