St. Rose improves to 2-0

The St. Rose Cardinals traveled to Victoria last Wednesday, Sept. 20 and defeated the OLV Eagles “B” team by a score of 28-0. St. Rose kicked off to start the game and the Eagles put together a time consuming, 13-play drive that used all of the first quarter and two minutes of the second quarter.

Pirates’ potent offense piles up 460 yards in 41-point win

Although the Shorthorns suffered a one-sided loss to Poth for a second straight year, last Friday’s game at David Husmann Memorial Stadium included some positive signs. Schulenburg totaled 205 yards, with 119 passing, in the 48-7 loss after managing only 88 in last season’s 55-0 blowout.

Lady Horns down Lago Vista 3-1, sweep Pirettes

Horns start district play in Thorndale

Schulenburg will travel to Thorndale to this Friday, Sept. 22 for the teams’ district opener. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs have gone 0-4 in their pre-district games this season, averaging only 12.5 points per game while giving up 36.8.

St. Rose starts season with win over St. Philip

The St. Rose Cardinals traveled to El Campo last Wednesday, Sept. 13 to open up their 2023 season and brought home a 36-22 victory over the St. Philip Pioneers. The Pioneers started the game with a nice six-play drive but it ended on a William Eudy interception over the middle.
