City Council updated on water tower work, grants

After taking action on two routine items, the Schulenburg City Council received updates on recent projects at its regular meeting Monday, Feb. 1.

Disaster declaration extended after reports by Extension agents

Extension agents Kayla Kasper, Scott Willey, and Sally Garrett reported on last year’s activities at a special Fayette County Commissioners Court meeting Thursday, Jan. 28 beginning at 8 a.m. All three spoke of how the coronavirus changed the way classes were taught with many activities cancelled.

Grass fire near Flatonia burns houses, vehicles, equipment

A 911 call reporting a large grass fire on Slo John Road off FM 609 in the Flatonia area was received by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office on Friday, Jan. 15 around 3:50 p.m., according to Sheriff Keith Korenek. Flatonia Fire & Rescue was notified and responded to the scene.
