Additional benefits for City staff nixed 3-2

A proposal to add dental and vision benefits for City of Schulenburg employees in lieu of pay raises was voted down 3-2 by the City Council at last week’s regular meeting.

School sees rise in COVID-19 cases

While the treats from Halloween should be long gone, one trick has lingered for Schulenburg ISD. Superintendent Duane Limbaugh told the Board of Trustees at its regular meeting Monday, Nov. 16 that the district had an “uptick” in COVID-19 cases about five days after Oct. 31.

In-home tests now available

Fayette County officials have ramped up their defense to the coronavirus by offering free inhome testing beginning Nov. 16. Funding provided by a private grant will allow residents to be tested for COVID-19 without having to leave their homes.
