Lady Horns’ season ends with 43-20 loss in Flatonia

In the regular-season finale last Tuesday in Flatonia, the Lady Horns suffered a 23-point loss to end their season with a record of 5-28. The Lady Bulldogs (28-5) jumped out to a 17-2 lead and expanded their advantage to 30-2 by halftime.

Four starters return for SHS softball team

Coming off a 19-11 season when they reached the third round of the playoffs, the Lady Horns will, once again, have to contend with three of the top teams in Class 2A. District 29 includes defending 2Achamp Weimar, which knocked Schulenburg out of the post-season in 2023.

Shorthorns edge Comanches after overtime loss

With a 15-point fourth quarter, the Shorthorns tied the Bobcats at the end of regulation in Bloomington last Tuesday but only two points in the extra four minutes. Schulenburg (13-15) suffered its second loss in District 28-2A, both to the Bobcats.

Bloomington, Shiner top Lady Horns

After a 15-point defeat in Bloomington last Tuesday, the Lady Horns fell by 37 to Shiner at home on Friday. Following the loss to the Lady Comanches, ranked No. 10 in Class 2A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, Schulenburg’s season record stood at 5-27.
