Baker gives floral design program to Garden Club

Schulenburg Garden Club president Bonnie Baker welcomed 22 members to the meeting on Tuesday, March 5. Baker shared the thought for the day: “Flowers always make people better, happier and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.
In Shiner blackout bingo , Clarence Ahlschlager (right) won two tickets to the American Legion drive-through dinner, then donated them back, and after another round the winner was Julian Godsey (left). Ahlschlager, a City Alderman, is a Senior Connections member who also serves on the board of directors. Godsey is looking for people who want to dance for fitness in a square/folk dance group.

Sr. Connections: gathering place for active seniors

As a way to provide important information to members and the community at large, Senior Connections hosted a presentation by Brian Slay, representative from MASA, on Tuesday evening, March 12 at Robert’s in Flatonia.

‘Preserving the Harvest’ workshop slated May 11

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office of Fayette County will offer a food preservation workshop called “Preserving the Harvest” on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane, La Grange.

Walk Across Texas offered by Weimar Public Library

Friends of the Weimar Public Library and Colorado County AgriLife are offering the Walk Across Texas program, a way to get involved, improve one’s health and have fun. It focuses on teams that record the miles they walk in an attempt to compete with other teams of walkers.
