Republican Women to host candidates at meeting

The Fayette County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, 575 Country Club Drive in La Grange, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check-in will begin at 10:45 a.m. with an option to purchase lunch for $20 inclusive, payable by cash or check.

Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association Members of the Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association will meet on Monday, Feb. 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Mandito’s Mexican Restaurant, 102 South Washington St., Round Top, for lunch/ fellowship time.

The award-winning Czech comedy drama “Buko” will make its Flatonia and Fayette County premiere on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Lyric Theater in Flatonia.

Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department Stew Supper The Schulenburg VFD will serve a boneless beef stew supper on Thursday, Feb. 1 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the KC Hall. Cost is $13 each for the drive-thru-only plates. Deadline to buy tickets was Monday, Jan. 29.

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary held their monthly meetings on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Commander Bob Heinrich called the meeting to order with 31 Legion and seven Auxiliary members in attendance. Auxiliary chaplain Linda Dieringer read the opening prayer.
